Moving on!

Well, nothing like taking a new adventure to the next step and moving on!  We have decided to make some more changes to our plans!  As of the end of December we will no longer be at our retail locations........instead we are going on the road!  We have decided that we needed to go on the road to see what else we could do!  We want to be a part of shows/ fairs that are not just in our familiar towns, but branch out and show others what fun we have being sisters and creating "stuff" just for that special person!  So, we will be back to the blogging world in a more timely manner and let you know where you will find us next!
In the mean time, we are having a blast with the Christmas Decor!  We love our burlap stockings that just have to be ready when Santa arrives!  Oh, and the adorable glass cloches with winter scenes tucked away inside!!  So much to do and so little time left before the family starts arriving!
We have our Holiday meals planned and the goodies are starting to be baked, I hope you all are having as much fun this season as we are!

Our New Adventure!

We have a new location for you to find us!  We've moved into "The Spare Room" out on Camano Island!  You will love their place, so much to see, so much to want, so much to buy!

We are so excited to be able to have our items on display there in our booth for you all to enjoy anytime you get the urge!

Please come visit, you will love it there!

In the Summer Time...

Nesting Instincts has been so busy this summer...and when we are busy, we are smiling! 

We have enjoyed adding antiques to our chalkboards that bring back memories and stories that we love to remember! 

Here are some of our newest boards......

 

 

This is a white framed chalkboard that we think would be perfect for a darling B&B or for your counter where your guests can anticipate what the menu will be!

We had to add this in....we have been working at our lakeside studio watching the berry bushes bloom and the bees buzzing!  What a relaxing way to be encouraged to let the creativity flow!

 

This is a new design for all you Ocean Lovers out there!  This has real fishing net with real shells and an adorable Mr. Crab.....this is a must have for all of us who love the ocean breeze and delicasies that it provides!

This board just hollers "Simple" and would fit into most decor.

New!  This is perfect to hang by the door to hang your keys and post that note to remember what the plan for the day is!  We know how it goes....never can find those keys...so here is the perfect remedy!

We fell in love with this antique brush....the wooden handle shows the love of being used! 

New!  Mr. Crab is back with this smaller chalkboard!  Again, it is all real fishing net, with shells that bring you back to the beach!  Oh, and don't forget the little bottle with precious beach sand!

We met the nicest little grandpa that had tools with stories!  He shared his stories from each loved tool, while we listened and could hardly wait to share them with others.  This wrench is an "Oldie but Goodie!"

Here is one of our favorites from the latest batch.  We thought of our friends that ranch out in Wyoming and while we put this board together we wished she could have been here with us and shared our smiles & laughs...this would be perfect in their home!

 

We are getting ready for our fall and winter products!  We can hardly wait to share them!

Here's the Latest!

You are going to have a chance to come see us this weekend!  Nesting Instincts will be at the Lymen Car Show and Craft Fair, July 7th!  We will have a sampling of soooo much of our stuff!  We hope to see you there, we'd love to meet you!

Here are a few more of our "Goodies" that we have been just giddy about!

This little suitcase is full of some absolutely adorable little accent pillows!  They have charms that will bring back memories, and the satin ribbon of days past!  We've placed them behind glass doors to bring life to shelves, we've placed them in bunches on the bed...oh so many options that you just can't do without!

These are some of our favorites right now!  These burlap owls are just too cute for words!  We can't wait to share them with you! 

Oh, and here's a Walt & Lorene Update:  Our little duck's (Walt & Lorene) have been very busy the last few weeks....but as I left the Lakeside studio the last time, they were spotted near the beach having a grand time playing!  I think they've gotten their children raised, and were feeling young again!  Walt was splashing and making a scene, while Lorene looked on from a distance so her feathers didn't get splashed!  Stay tuned.......

June...already?

It's June, and we've been busy...with what you ask?  We've had Weddings to decorate, Birthday Parties to throw, and Graduation Parties to give......Oh my!  We've had the time of our lives!  On top of all that...we've got new designs out!  We can hardly wait to share them...of course, these are our favorites!  Ask us next week...it will be something different!

This was one that we loved for Father's Day!  We found a sweet man that had some antique tools that he so patiently explained to us what they were for.  This one is from a Ford, way back in the day!!  Plus, what man doesn't need a reminder chalk board hanging in their garage?!?  How about their "Man Cave", or "Office"?

This tool was from a black smith....it is very old!  Oh, but we love it displayed on this chalk board!  We squealed and wished we had more of these tools for the next batch being sent out!

Now, this is precious!  This adorable wooden bird just looks at you so sweetly!  It goes in any house, because every house needs a bird!  I think this just might be the favorite of the week for us!

Ahhhh....extra large trays!  This will hold your whole meal, and so easy to carry!  Perfect for those summer nights when sitting by the lake is a must!

Simply Perfect!

Oooohhhh!  This was soooooo fun! This antique wood frame is to die for!  It has a burlap background, and wood cut out of the bird in the cage.  We've added our bling with the ceramic beading.....We know just where we would hang it in our house...how about you?

A little Show & Tell....

We know, we know....it's been a while since we've let you into our little creative world!  But, that doesn't mean that we haven't been workin' away!  The weather has been beautiful and we are enjoying the way each new season brings us a new inspiration.  We have something fun to share with you all, our new item!!!!  Are you ready?.........Glass Domes!  They are soooo much fun, and a great way to display those little treasures that get lost in our every day crowded life.  So take a peek, and enjoy some of our favorite treasures from the past couple weeks!

Treasures from the beach...this one even has a little surprise message in the bottle!

This dome comes with it's own special stand...the beading adds that little bling that we all love.  We loved the beading part...sitting and laughing and sharing new ideas all while creating something so special!

This dome has an adorable hand crafted nest...designed from wire and moss...it even comes with a little blue egg and real feather to make it special.  We have enjoyed our time at the lake side cottage watching the birds and squirrels...they have inspired us to be creative!

These matching burlap pillows look amazing on a bed!  What a perfect way to make your room cozy, with these two love birds!

We love our small burlap pillows too.  These have the burlap flower with an antique button to accessorize it perfectly, and burlap goes with EVERYTHING!

Okay, saving the best for last!  We are going to be in the Poppy Seed's Antique and Gift Outdoor Market this next Saturday, May 26, 2012.  This quaint little store in the cozy town of Stanwood, is the perfect place to come browse and then enjoy the afternoon at the beaches of Camano Island!  Make it a day of fun with your friends and family!  Here is a little peek of what you will find in our booth, but this isn't all, so you have to come and see the rest!

P.S. I thought I would give all you loyal Nesting Instincts blog readers an update on our duck couple, Walt & Lorene!  Momma was spotted this week on an outing with her now teen age children...we couldn't decide if she was trying to coax them out to the middle of the lake or scolding them for something they'd done wrong...but lots of fluttering of the wings and quacking was happening.  The kids seems a little more well behaved since last time we spotted them.  Oh, and tonight before leaving the cottage, I spotted Walt & Lorene out on a double date with the couple from a few docks down...they were thoroughly enjoying their time away from the kids!

Delivery Day!

We are so excited to now be able to direct you to one of our favorite stores now selling our products!  Re-Feather Your Nest got in a shipment of our newest "stuff" just today!  Oh, and did we ever have fun!  They have an amazing new store in La Conner, and their lovely shop in Mount Vernon...We love it! We want one of everything!!  And, did I mention their staff is amazing, friendly and oh, so creative! 

One of the benefits of going to La Conner today is that we got to go to Seed's for lunch....BEST LUNCH EVER!  May I recommend their meatloaf sandwich to everyone!  Go enjoy a day in the cute town, we know you will love it!  (And stop in and check out our new stuff!!)

Okay, Okay....what have we been working on this week?  Table runners!!!  Pillows!!! More Table Runners!!  The weather was beautiful and so we had the doors and windows open listening to the birds sing and play while the sewing machines were humming along!  Lorene, our momma duck, seems to be quite busy these days too...haven't seen much of her, I think those 11 kids are quite the handful!  Although we did notice that Walt and all the other papa ducks have sure been enjoying their days....free from the children and wives!!

Now that we have this weeks delivery under way, we are already thinking about our next fabric prints, bird patterns, and of course my new favorite...a squirrel silhouette pillow!  Call us Nutty, but those little squirrels amaze us at how much they can get done in a day....if we could climb those trees as many times as they do in a day, we could eat out at Seeds every day of the week!

We hope everyone is enjoying their spring days like we are.  Oh, and we hope that everyone has a friend like we have in each other, to enjoy these beautiful days with!  Here are a few pictures of our "Fun-ness" for you all to get excited about!

Workin' away!

We have to say that we didn't have a lot of high hopes for this little whale....we each hoped the other sister would figure it out.....now it is one of our favorites!  This is perfect for you out there that love the ocean and all that is in it!

Table Runners!  These seem to be the hot item this week!  These little birds are on burlap that we sewed on  heavy upholstery material.....love, love, love!

Plain and Simple....but oh so practical!  The starfish charm just finishes it off!

Ohhhhh Boy!  This was a mess like no other!  We had each of our boards out trying to decide which to pack and which to stay....Which was our favorite and which needed torn apart....Right here in this picture there are so many stories!  Every piece has a story....Grandma G's tacks on the brown cork board remind us of her house and furniture...she would be so happy to know we are having so much fun.  The giggles and the reminiscing that went on while creating these are just to precious to put into words.  If only we could share this joy and giggles with everyone!

Ahhh what a weekend!!

Like we have said in the past....sleep is WAY over-rated!  My sister and I spent the weekend at our lakeside cottage studio and although not a lot of sleep was happening, our creative side was doing its thing!!  When the ideas came to a screeching halt, we sat with our coffee and watched "Lorene", our momma duck bring her 11 babies out for their first swim!  She even allowed them to come up on our beach for a quick rest before heading out on more adventures!!  we thought raising our families was hard work, we have much more respect for Lorene now, after watching her with her 11.

We were able to get so much done....like completed 25 chalk boards & bulletin boards!  Here are few for you too take a peek at and see what we have been up to:

The perfect summer-time tray!  Serve your friends their lemonade on this cute tray and you will be the talk of the town!  Or, the kids can do their homework with a smooth surface anywhere in the house!

Just a few "Somethings".....

Fun is what we are having with the latest "Idea" from Nesting Instincts!

An amazing black framed picture that has a fabric background....the owl just makes it perfect for any room!  We all need a little "Wisdom" in our homes, and this Wise Owl will give it to us!

A cork board, a picture hanger....all in one, and cute too!!

This comes with an adorable flower charm to add some "bling"...we all like something to shine!!

 Ahhhhh....a framed chalkboard for those sweet notes we leave for our loved ones....or the grocery list? I know we all have those days when we can't find that paper, or pen when we need it!  This has an adorable starfish charm that dangles from the frame.

One of my favorites, I think!  A burlap pocket to hide that "stuff" that clutters the counter, or keep that pencil handy when you need it.....and don't forget the cork board!  The Starfish charm also gives it some character that we love to add.
